Which option is right for me?
Option 1:
Complete the full CalTeach program, earning both your California preliminary teaching credential and STEM degree at the same time!
Option 2:
If you are not fully committed to becoming a teacher yet, you have the option of adding a specialization in education to your degree. This allows you to take some courses in education, without completing the entire CalTeach program and earning your credential. This is a great option for those students that want to focus on their degree, but might consider applying to a post grad credential program down the road. By taking our four course series, you can “test out” if teaching is the right path for you, and get a leg up on your application to credential programs after you graduate.
To add this specialization you will take the following courses:
- PS 5 (offered every quarter)
- PS 105 (offered every quarter)
- Chem 193 (offered winter and spring)
- Edu 55 (only offered in the fall)
