Woke WOCE – A UCI CalTeach affinity space created for the purpose of promoting the development of teachers of color and building community that would sustain them through the CalTeach program and into their teaching career.

In what started as an event to support both in-service and preservice teachers transition to teaching remotely, the CalTeach Extravapalooza has become a welcome summer source for meeting with like-minded individuals to better the craft of teaching in the form of professional development.
“CalTeach Alumni – Working Better Together“ – by Kris Houston
CalTeach alumni gathered in person and virtually in September for our annual event under the theme of Working Better Together in an effort to develop new working groups around current issues in education, professional development and curriculum design.
